Pound-for-pound boxing champ Manny Pacquiao doused rumors of a romantic dalliance with sexy star Krista Ranillo in an exclusive interview aired Nov. 22 on GMA-7's late night newscast.
Manny finally broke his long silence on the issue which had dragged for more than a month now.
"Matalik kaming magkaibigan," Manny said in the interview.
Though he didn’t elaborate, Manny apologized to the Ranillos for the inconvenience that his rumored romantic involvement with Krista might have caused them.
"Pasensiya na at hindi ko naman ginusto na masira ang pamilya n'yo. Kumbaga sa ano, dumating na talaga 'yong panahon, 'yong pagkakaton na sinakyan na ng ano at nagkaroon ng issue-issue, 'yong ganoon."
On "The Buzz" last Nov. 22, TV host Kris Aquino revealed that she is in constant communication with Manny's better half Jinkee Pacquaio whom Kris said denied making a snide remark about Krista when they bumped into each other at a Chanel store in Los Angeles.
Kris said that although Krista and Jinkee did see each other inside the store, "nothing of that sort" happened.
Actor Matt Ranillo, Krista’s father, also said his piece in the same episode via a text message he sent to host Boy Abunda.
Matt's message read thus: “Dear Kuya Boy [Abunda], our dear thanks for the love and for being impartial about Krista’s issue sa ‘The Buzz.’ We’ve been accused and abused, but we’ve forgiven those who have wronged us even though they know the truth and still fabricate lies.
“Our family is deeply hurt with this insanity. People are amused with negativism than national honor. Cultivate hate than love. Thanks, peace, and good health to you.”
